A moment for the arrangements made at our first flower arranging workshop a couple of weeks ago. The creative juices were flowing as the vases were filling, a great time with a great group. Courgettes are great summer vegetables. Plant 1 plant for 2 people or you will end up with marrows. Use them in stir fries, mince dishes, cut in half and cooked on the barbecue or grate and greeze in plastic bags for winter use in quiches.

Titbit #3 - Plant tomatoes and basil together for natural pest control, improved flavour and better growth. A classic example of the benefits of companion planting. Here is my Sweet 100 Cheery Tomato with basil at its feet, in my glasshouse.

From the garden to the table. Christmas lillie’s are best planted in autumn or spring in well drained and full sun. They flower in summer, are long lasting in a vase and beautifully fragrant.

From the garden to the table. The raspberry bushes are absolutely thriving, filling an ice cream container every couple of days. Breakfast toppings, dessert coulis, and plenty of sneaky handfuls in between. The rest go in the freezer for future use.
